The Base Mat XPE is a lightweight, fuss-free sleeping mat designed for summer camps, Outdoor Ed trips and simple overnight adventures. With an R-value of 1.5, it provides a basic layer of insulation and comfort on its own in warmer weather - or works perfectly as a protective base under an inflatable mat year-round.
Made from moulded XPE closed-cell foam, it’s tough, water-resistant and won’t absorb moisture, making it ideal for damp grass, rough ground or repeated school camp use. The raised bump pattern adds extra cushioning while trapping small pockets of warm air close to the body. Its 14-panel accordion design folds down quickly, straps easily to the outside of a pack and weighs just 324 grams... one of the simplest ways to boost comfort without adding bulk.
